Sunrise Beach Volunteer Fire Department was established in 1969 by a small group of dedicated citizens who wanted to provide fire protection to this central Texas “Hill Country” community on the southwestern shores of Lake LBJ. Beyond the City of Sunrise Beach, we also respond regularly to calls for assistance from other departments in Llano, Burnet, and Blanco Counties.
As the town has grown and developed over the years, so has our organization. We are 100% volunteers, supported entirely by donations and proceeds from our annual fundraising events. Our 40+ dedicated members operate from three stations, and include both firefighters and medical first responders who function as a “basic life support” team. The training department strives to keep the members up to date on firefighting, primary care practices, and safety procedures. We meet for training and department business twice monthly on the second and fourth Tuesdays.
We are a fun loving group who also take the work of firefighting, medical first response, and community service very seriously!
